I will be giving you a detailed description of Do Son Eau de Toilette by Diptque today. In 2005, Fabrice Pellegrin released Do Son, a perfume created by him. The most diverse range of fragrances are offered by Diptyque, a niche perfumery brand. Each fragrance is unique. This brand is particularly well known for its candles and home fragrances. I love this brand. I love white floral (tuberose especially) scents, and this is one of the most beautiful I have ever smelt. I’ve been so inspired by niche brands lately, and I’ve made it my mission to discover all the niche brands around me.
Product Description:
Tuberose, Orange Leaves, Pink Peppercorns, Musk – On a bed of flowers and berries, tuberose reveals its power of seduction. Like a pagoda on the edge of the Gulf of Tonkin, it is enveloped by the fresh sweetness of a sea breeze.
What I think of Diptyque Do Son Eau De Toilette Spray:
I have had the opportunity to learn about a lot of raw materials that are used in perfumery while studying perfumery raw materials. Tuberose, being the floral person that I am, caught my attention, and I think I have fallen in love with it. Despite my unexplainable attraction to tuberose scents, I cannot stop buying them. I have created two of the greatest tuberose masterpieces to date: Carnal flower and Do Son. I hope to stop my addiction soon. Soon!
My usual purchase is Eau de Parfum. Despite the strength of the scent, the Eau de Toilette was sufficient this time around. There is a difference between the scent of the Eau De Parfum and the Eau De Toilette. While they are both white florals, I find the Eau De toilette to be a bit fresher. The bottle is a slender, oval form with a minimalistic shape. Niche houses usually have elegant, classy bottles that are not overly garish because their perfumes are all you could possibly want. My favorite thing about Diptyque perfumes is their simple packaging; it is their identity.
Summertime is a great time to enjoy Diptyque Do Son and wintertime is a great time to enjoy it as well. It is a perfect companion throughout the year.
I will now attempt to describe the smell using my olfactory senses. When you first spray it, you smell a powerful scent of white flower, which is African Orange. There are slight powdery accents of Iris and Rose along with the orange flower.
Tuberose can be smelled all around as the fragrance settles. There is something milky and creamy about this tuberose, which is why I think it has a coconut-y quality to it; thus, Aldehyde C18.
After a few hours, the fragrance turns sweeter and muskier while still maintaining the tuberose goodness. The sweetness or balsamic qualities of benzoin and vanilla are enhanced by the musky notes of musk. Do Son has a slight animalistic, synthetic characteristic to it, which I think comes from the Rose. The Turkish Rose often smells animalistic. I’m not usually a fan of rosy scents, but this subtle addition completes Do Son for me. It gives it an edge, giving it a finishing touch.
